I've read an interesting article on the Net, stating that the first genetically modified meat and salmon would be improved this Summer 2013. The Scientists at the University of Edinburgh’s Roslin Institute asks the support of the Government to spread the GM Salmon and to further use it on the farm animals. For full reading of the article, read it here: GMOs Meat and Salmon.

What is GMO or gentically modifed organisms? As nongmoproject define it, "these are re plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This experimental technology merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding."

Of course there will be an opposition from the people who do not approve of GMOs.Well for me, we still do not know the other side of the GM meat and salmon. Further research should be done first, in order to remove any side effects and future problems and illnesses which will be acquired through eating GM food.
